Learning Outcomes

. Students will be able to explain the purpose of the kidneys, bladder and urethra.

. Students will be able to describe working and function of excretory system.

. Students will be able to demonstrate the understanding of path of excretory system.

 

Description Of Activity

 5 membered 8 teams of students will be made and 2 teams will compete each other at a time.

. 2 set ups of plastic bottle, plastic pipe , sieve and beaker in disembeled form will be kept on two separate tables.

. 2 solutions( representing the blood to be filtered by the kidneys)  containing small sized safety pins(representing nutrients such as carbohydrates,fats etc) will also be kept in each table.

.The competing teams must assemble the model (preparing the excretory system) while running and then  filter the solution and secure their nutrients.

 

Variations

The game can be played by fixing the distance to be run according to the time limit and ground area.

Coaching Tips

Students should have idea about structure of kidney.

Two plastic water bottel,plastic straw or pipes, sieve, beaker.
