Description Of Activity
How to play
This activity can be accompanied with the chapter Environment.
- The students should be taken out of the classroom and the teacher will make them stand in a big circle.
- The teacher will give a handball to one of the student and ask him to say any one component of a food chain.The student after calling one component such as butterfly will pass the ball to the student standing next to him who will say another component like frog and this will continue.
- While participating they will found themselves as a component of the ecosystem and they will observe how the components of the ecosystem are connected.
Variations
To make it more interactive and interesting, it can be accompanied with music so when the music stops they have to name one component and the same can also be done with the help of a flying disc and passing it to others.
Coaching Tips
The concept of the chapter can be acquired by recreational activities which are not only for fun but also to bring interest, to create practical knowledge and to encourage the students but at the same time the teacher must be conscious about the correct answers and if someone answers incorrect it is the duty of the teacher to make him correct by positive reinforcement.
Through this activity they will not only know about the natural environment but also their skills of passing handball will be enhanced.
