Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to

1. Reason out why elbow and knees donot move backward

2. compare the movement of elbow  and knees with the hinge of the door

3. Appreciate the working mechanism of hinge joints in our body

Description Of Activity

Tennis can be played by two people (called 'playing singles') or four people ('doubles'). Players use racquets to hit a ball over a net into the other side of the court. 4 Students can be allowed to play tennis and others can observe their elbow and knee movements. It is due to the hinge joint present in the elbow, they can bend the hand in elbow and hit the ball and when they run for the ball or racquet, their knees bend in one direction only due to the hinge joint.
