4. The students will understand the shape and stucture of mountains.
This activity can be accompanied with the chapter Major Landforms of the Earth.
1.The teacher will take the students to an open area and will divide them into groups of two.
2.The teacher will ask each student of every group to lie down on their back with keeping their feet inwards towards the hips.
3.The teacher should instruct to keep their feet parallel to each other.
4.Now they will be asked to lift up their stomach going towards the ceiling along their back, hip and thighs.
5.The teacher will guide the second member of each group to do the same in opposite way so that their feet will be adjacent to the feet of their partner.
6.This will create an illusion of arch like shape, then the teacher will relate this with mountains and will describe its feature with them.
The same can be done using three different yogasanas such as Adhomukha Svanasama or chakrasana.
The shape, structure and features of mountain can be well understood by the help of this yoga and the students will get to learn yoga along with their studies. It will also help to create mental images of this landform.
