Students will be able to 

1. Analyse why bones in the head donot move except lower jaw bone

2. Explain how fixed joints are formed

Description Of Activity

40 lines can be drawn and students can be made to stand in each line with the spoon in their mouth holding lemon.

They need to reach 100m distance without crossing the line by holding the spoon in their mouth.

Who touches the end point without dropping lemon are announced as winners. Lemon in the spoon can be held only by mouth, as other than lower jaw bone, all other bones in the head have fixed joints.

Through this activity,  students will learn that only lower jaw bone in the head is movable whereas other bones in the head donot move, because they are joined by fixed joints.

Variations

All students can participate in this game, teacher also can participate in this game and explain the fixed joints in head

Coaching Tips

It improves concentration, coordination skills also. Physical education teachers and science teachers can explain the concept of fixed joint, since spoon can be held by only mouth not any other part of the head as they are having fixed joints
