Parallel bars in Gymnastics

Description Of Activity

Parallel bars are floor apparatus consisting of two wooden bars slightly over 11 feet (340 cm) long and positioned at roughly hand height. Parallel bars are used in artistic gymnastics and also for physical therapy and home exercise.[1] Gymnasts may optionally wear grips when performing a routine on the parallel bars, although this is uncommon.

Teacher take the class out to the ground where parallel bars are installed

Now teacher ask each students to show their strength on Gymnastics strength between the parallel bars. 

The students stand between the paralled bars and raise their feet to hold theselves on their arms . 

The students who keep weight balance can keeo their body in the middle of the bars . 

Students can also bend their legs to make a right angle on the bars and floating the legs parallel to the ground .

Teacher involves the whole class to work around the parallel bars 

Variations

Various variations are possible

Coaching Tips

Students can be given a chance daily to try their hands on Parallel bars 

Coach need to keep safety mattresses in the ground .
