Four heterogeneous groups has to be made, each team must have a minimum of 10 (ten) Players and a maximum of 12 (twelve) Players in its match-day playing squad. 7 (seven) Players shall take the ground at a time and the remaining 3 (three) to 5 (five) Players shall be substitutes.
Tossing of coin is done to determine which team will go first. Sometimes tossing is done with an unbiased dice also.
After winning the toss, the team takes turn and sends players, often known as raiders into opponent team’s sections. The sole aim of the raider is to tag the members of the opposite team and run back into his team side. Each player he touches on the opponent’s side gives his team one point.
· The raider needs to repeatedly yell “a new word” from the lesson instead of “Kabaddi” soon after crossing the mid line and he needs to keep it yelling till he safely returns to his zone. Every time the raider goes for raid she or he has to yell a new word. It is worth noting that, under no circumstances the raider should stop yelling the new word. If she/he is successful in touching a player or more, the player or players will have to make a sentence using that new word. One point will be given for the sentence as well.
In case if the player misses breath and stops yelling the new word, she/he should return to her/ his zone as soon as possible and then she/he will have to make a sentence using the new word.
When a player goes to the opposite team for raid she/ he play a deceiving trick to attack the players from the defense. The player moves to one end and when the last player at other end tries to cover his move he /she swiftly dodges and using the hand touching technique, touches the player and flees back to his team. Here the player need not use her or his strength. The physical strength does not matter at this point, what takes the lead in such situation is her/ his intelligence and wit. Even a player who is not broad in the beam can use this trick to prove that appearance can be deceptive.
The duration of the match shall be a minimum of 30 minutes divided equally in two halves of 15 minutes each along with 5 minutes interval between halves. 5 minutes will be taken in making arrangements.
· The word Kabaddi will be replaced by a new word by the raider every time he goes for a raid.
· The player or players who are touched by the raider need to frame a sentence using that particular word. One point will be given for the sentence.
· Time duration will be changed as per duration of the class.
The learners should understand that, the match they are playing is to develop their thinking and decision making skills.

They should know the basic rules of the game.
