Describe how mosquitoes spread malaria and dengue.
Analyse the role of carrier/ vector in spreading communicable diseases.
Developing fitness and the value of staying fit.
1. Assemble the students in the ground.
2. Allow them to sit forming a big circle.
3. One student will volunteer to be the chaser/ seeker.
4. The teacher will clap to start the game.
5. The seeker will carry a hanky in his/her hand.
6. The seeker runs or moves around the circle.
7. The seeker will drop the hanky behind any one of them.
8. The student on finding the hanky behind him/her then chases the seeker to secure his/her place and not to be tagged.
CLASS ROOM LEARNING:
1. The circle represents the malaria/dengue prone areas.
2. The seeker represents the mosquito(carrier/vector).
3. The hanky represents the pathogen.
4. The students represent the population.
5. When the seeker drops the hanky, it implies the mosquito bites the person and the pathogen is injected to his body.
6. The student the become seeker and will continue the game and will drop the hanky behind another student.
7. As the students continues for some more time the disease keeps on spreading.
Size of the circle may vary according to available space in the school.
Caps can be worn by students to show that they are bitten by infected mosquitoes
