Learning Outcomes

  1. To understand about the fetures of two desert regions - the sahara desert of Africa and Ladakh of India .
  2. To familiarize with the desert region with illustrations .
  3. To understand and analyze how these regions are same and different from each other in different from each other in different perspectives .
  4. To understand  about lifestyle ,flora and fauna,peoples occupation around ladakh region .

Description Of Activity

How to play

  1. All the students of the class are divided into 10 groups each group having 4 students each . 
  2. They will provided with carrom board . the stricker repsent the peoples need .
  3. All the coins of the board represent  the natural resources of the nature . 
  4. when the students hit the coins one by one they  insert the coins into the pockets thats means we are using the plants and trees for our diffrent uses, in this way day by day the natural vegetation are decreases so we are loosing our trees and plants in this way the landmass area are turned into a desert area . 
  5. The remaining few coins are left behind thats represent the trees of desert such as cactus , palm,date . few coins represent animals of desert such as camel, jackel,hyena etc . some coins represent well .
  6. In this way the students are familiar with the life style of desert area .

Coaching Tips

Students are inspired to play indoor games . for this chapter they will play carrom board and relate there chapter with coins of the stricker of the carrom board . they will respect the nature and try to consereve the nature for our sustainable development .
